Barbara was born in Greenock just outside Glasgow, the daughter of Patrick & Barbara. She is youngest of 4 children James, Pauline, Patrick and our Barbara. Barbara did not have an easy childhood as her beloved Father Patrick suffered a massive heart attack and died at the age of 46. Barbara was only 9 when this tragedy happened leaving her AMAZING Mother also called Barbara to look after 4 young children which is not an easy task for anyone but she managed it and made her children what they all are today.

Barbara’s pride and joy is her own daughter Nicola and her gorgeous Gran children Mia 3 & Craig 1 who are the apple of her eyes. In 1990, Barbara Bryceland burst on to the music scene with her incredible voice and within months was known with the circuit as “Scotlands Top Female Vocalists” which she is still known as today. She has worked steadily in the industry ever since and now has wealth of over 20 years’ experience to offer a clients.
Barbara honed her craft in holiday parks, appealing to families where she was appreciated as much for her sense of humour as her fabulous singing talents. Years passed, and Barbara went on to top the bill in Blackpool where her faithful following grew. In 2007 Barbara hit our Televisions stations when she entered the ITV hit programme X FACTOR UK singing the Barbara Streisand classic  “Somewhere” where Louis Walsh, Danni Minogue, Sharon Osborne and Simon Cowell sent her through to boot camp. Louis Welsh said of Barbara “you remind me of a young Bette Midler / Barbara Streisand” Sharon and Danni both said “we LOVE you” Simon Cowell said “That was a musical up yours” to Barbara’s former husband who she had recently split from.

Barbara was now a household name in Scotland appearing on the front page of just about EVERY Scottish newspaper and radio station. Sadly Barbara was put out at the boot camp stage but has had an amazing response to her first television performance. Barbara was and still is in high demand with the UK for all events.

The Voice

In 2012 a friend of Barbara told her to enter a new BBC1 talent show that had gone MASSIVE in just about every country worldwide called The Voice UK. Barbara was unsure but finally filled out the application form and then it all happened.
Legendary singer Sir Tom Jones, Will.i.am, Jessie J & Danny O’Donoghue from The Script were chosen to be the judges in the new BBC1 Talent show designed to compete with The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent. The VOICE UK won the TV ratings war!!!!!
Barbara was 1 of hundreds of thousands to apply for the show and was put on the short list. The next step for the lucky selected singers was for one of the judges to pick them for their top 10, and at this point Barbara hoped she would get picked and her choice of judge would have been Sir Tom Jones and when Tom heard Barbara belt out “Wild Horses” he pushed his button and Barbara was in Team Tom Jones.
So out of the hundreds of thousands of entries Scottish Barbara had made it to the final 20 and more importantly Tom Jones was to be her mentor. Tom Jones said of Barbara Bryceland “I have worked with Aretha Franklin and Barbara has a voice every bit as strong as her”. The next time Barbara was seen on our TV screens was a few weeks later in the next round when she had a singing battle against Leanne Mitchell.

This battle as it was called was to be the BIGGEST battle of their entire VOICE UK series. The 2 girls sang an incredible version of the Lady ga ga hit “Edge of Glory and the audience went wild and the 4 judges gave the 2 girls a standing ovation. Holly Willoughby who hosted the show said “ I need to check the roof is still on”. The judges were divided in their choice but the one who had to made the final decision was Sir Tom Jones and he said “This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my entire career”. Sadly Barbara missed out on the vote and Leanne went on to win the entire competition but we like to say that means Barbara came 2nd lol.

Boy George even tweeted about Barbara after this amazing battle!
Barbara has now had more than 500,000 YouTube hits across the world and the number is going up even as you read this. Barbara has never short of work since and is in hot demand all over the world. Barbara has also supported Sophie Ellis Bextor and Joe McElderry to name a few. So things are happening for Barbara and we would like you all to come along on the Journey by checking back here regularly.
